Sunlight Malaysia Empowers Women: Supporting Female Entrepreneurship and Upskilling

A poll conducted in 2019 revealed that 63% of Malaysian women sacrifice employment opportunities to tend to household commitments. To challenge these generational stereotypes and support women in pursuing their ambitions, Sunlight Malaysia, a home care brand under Unilever, advocates for women to #JadiLebihLagi and unlock their untapped power.

Sunlight Malaysia celebrates women who pursue their ambitions and supports female entrepreneurship through various educational programs. In partnership with Ibupreneur Malaysia, the brand introduces the Tangan Tangan Terer program, sponsoring ten aspiring B40 women to participate in the #IbuDigital program. With the support of the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, this initiative aims to empower women economically and equip them with the skills for their entrepreneurial dreams.

Selected participants will receive funds worth RM30,000 for the #IbuDigital program, a comprehensive ten-course module covering micro-entrepreneurship topics like product development, digital marketing, and financial management. This initiative seeks to break the barriers holding back women’s dreams and inspire them to believe they are made for more.

From July 25th to 30th September 2023, all Malaysian B40 women are invited to register their interest for the Tangan Tangan Terer program, offering a life-changing opportunity to upskill for the betterment of their family and community. The ten finalists will be selected by the fourth quarter of 2023.
