Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have released their official photos yesterday to mark their engagement.
The couple announced their engagement last month and is set to marry next year. In a statement released by Kensington Palace, the royal wedding will take place on May 19th 2018 at St George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle, west of London. Markle, who is a protestant, will be baptized and confirmed prior to the wedding. The “Suits” actress also intends on becoming a British citizen.
The engagement photos, photographed by Alexi Lubomirski at Frogmore House, Windsor, were revealed a day after the happy couple joined the Queen and the royal family for Christmas lunch at Buckingham Palace.
Markle dazzles in a sheer Ralph & Russo dress in black with gold detailing in one of the photos while Harry looked charming in a blue suit. The engagement ring, designed by Harry himself using Botswana diamond surrounded by two smaller diamonds taken from Diana’s jewellery collection, is in full display. Harry said he wanted to include a piece of her “to make sure she’s with us on this crazy journey together.”
The photos were received with such wonderful comments from the public that the couple have decided to share a candid shot from the day with the portrait sittings directly with the world. The couple graced their first royal event together earlier this month in Nottingham and will be spending their Christmas at the Queen’s Sandringham estate.
