With the recent trend of crop tops and off shoulder tops, we know most of us are trying hard to keep fit in order to wear these pretty clothes. We go for a morning run, after work workout or even yoga class whenever we can. Yet, do you avoid food that you should not eat or you are eating every food that you like? These are what you should not eat when you try to keep fit:
- Sugary drinks
Are you a person who likes to drink carbonated drinks, tea with sugars or store-bought fruit juice? Frankly speaking, sugar-sweetened beverages like soda are one of the unhealthiest drinks. When you consume it excessively, there is a lot of negative impact on your health too. Consider giving up sugary drinks completely.
2. Hi-fiber snacks bar
Yes, it is true that everyone needs fiber as it helps to keep us full. However, do you know that one snack bar contains a lot of sugar and calories? For a healthier option, try to substitute your morning breakfast with fruits and vegetables.
3. White bread
How many of you actually eat white bread as breakfast in the morning? White bread is highly refined and often contains added sugar, it is high on the glycemic index and can spike your blood sugar levels. Alternatively, try to eat whole grain bread.
4. Pastries and cakes
Desserts are like our ‘best friends’, we eat it no matter where and when. However, pastries, cookies, and cakes are packed with unhealthy ingredients like added sugar and refined flour. They may also contain artificial trans fats, which are very harmful and linked to many diseases. If you are craving for something sweet, eat a piece of 70% cocoa dark chocolate instead.
Coffee in the mid-day anyone? The caffeine in the coffee can boost your metabolism and increase fat burning. Nonetheless, there are some ingredients like artificial cream and sugar will reduce these positive effects. Thus, if you like to enjoy a cup of coffee, try to drink plain, black coffee when you try to lose weight.
