There’s a certain magic to Irama Dining — one that hums quietly beneath its name, meaning melody in Malay. It’s the kind of magic that transports you, note by note, back to the warmth of home kitchens and the gentle rhythm of traditional flavours reborn for today’s palate.

For those who first fell in love with Irama in Penang, its story feels like a homecoming of sorts. What began as a semi-fine dining haven along Light Street in 2019 has since evolved into a beloved culinary landmark — one that redefined modern Malay cuisine with sophistication, nostalgia, and a whisper of island charm. When Irama made its way to Kuala Lumpur in 2022, it carried with it not just recipes, but memories — the kind that linger like familiar songs you never tire of hearing.

Now, in October 2025, Irama Dining KL unveils a refreshed menu of 19 reimagined dishes that celebrate the essence of Malay cuisine while embracing modern creativity.

From the Ayam Goreng Berempah – a crispy, aromatic fried chicken infused with traditional Malay spices — to the Duck Salai Lemak Cili Api, rich and smoky in its golden coconut gravy, each dish strikes a perfect balance between comfort and surprise. The Udang Bakar Petai, meanwhile, captures bold local flavours with sambal’s fiery aroma and the distinct bite of petai — unapologetically Malaysian, yet beautifully plated.

The new set menus are equally inviting — tailored for two, four, or larger groups — thoughtfully curated for intimate dinners, family feasts, or celebratory gatherings. Whether you’re sharing stories over Kerabu Pamelo or rediscovering the joy of Cucur Jagung (or prawn, if you prefer), Irama’s kitchen delivers not just flavour, but feeling.

And then there’s the setting. Nestled in the heart of Kuala Lumpur, Irama Dining KL offers a rare combination of fine food and fine views. Its outdoor terrace faces the iconic KL Tower, making it a perfect spot for slow evenings, intimate gatherings, or simply a serene night under the city lights. Inside, the first floor accommodates up to 60 guests, making it an ideal venue for private group dinners, celebrations, or corporate gatherings — all set against the soft rhythm of good company and great food.

Building on its growing success, Irama is also preparing for a new milestone. This December 2025, the brand will unveil Irama Signature at IOI City Mall Putrajaya — a fresh dining concept that brings together elevated yet approachable Malay dishes alongside signature favourites from across all Irama Dining Group (IDG) restaurants.
In a city that never stops evolving, Irama Dining remains a gentle reminder that heritage and innovation can — and should — dance together. From its humble beginnings in Penang to its elegant perch in Kuala Lumpur, Irama continues to serve not just food, but the enduring taste of home refined for the modern table.
