Kwai Chai Hong Blossoms into Cryptic “Poetic Spring Garden” This Lunar New Year

This Lunar New Year, Kwai Chai Hong presents a whimsical and eclectic installation with traditional Chinese Calligraphy in bold, non-conventional representation and over-sized blossoms and foliage tucked within the historic laneway in the heart of Kuala Lumpur Chinatown.

Themed “Poetic Spring Garden”, Kwai Chai Hong collaborates with local artist Jaemy C, famous for his work with reimagining Chinese calligraphy in his artwork and exotic vivid visuals. Inspired by the year of the Water Rabbit, Jaemy presents an installation entitled “Wet Hot Spring Thing” with hidden cryptic messages for visitors to decipher. Through the concept of Poetic Spring Garden, and Jaemy’s brush calligraphy art, they want to deliver tradition to the younger generation in a familiar vehicle without compromising modernisation, simply by speaking in a universal language of visual arts.

Kwai Chai Hong will be open to the public daily from 9AM to 12AM. The Poetic Spring Garden art installation will be available from 6th January to 12th February 2023. Come celebrate Chinese New Year at Kwai Chai Hong with your loved ones and be sure to check out the 10 amazing eateries in the area!
