Corum Presents Pearly Wong Sze Women Of Hope Fashion Show

Local designer Pearly Wong’s latest effort is a prime testament of fashion gives back through its partnership with leading Swiss watch brand, CORUM, and UNHCR, the United Nation High Commission for Refugees.

Showcasing garments and accessories conscientiously sourced and handmade by the women from “Sze Women of Hope” (SWOH), a non-profit organization founded by Pearly Wong that empowers women’s lives through vocational training, livelihood projects and education in Malaysia, CORUM and Pearly Wong presents an evening of fashion presentation at Black Box, Publika last night.

A total of 149,000 refugees registered under UNHCR are unable to pursue legal work due to the lack of legal status. This is when SWOH and UNHCR come together to provide a secure working place that offers training courses as well as space for them to work on their projects so that they can generate their own income.

“Pearly Wong is an exceptional individual who’s tremendously talented and have such a big heart to help others by fronting this cause”, said Mr. Chris Wan, General Manager of CORUM Malaysia.

When asked about her CSR project, the designer said, “I can’t thank CORUM enough for believing in my passion and interest towards this CSR project with UNHCR. I’m truly blessed and honoured to give back by educating the refugees through my skill and experience as a designer.”

The initiative between CORUM and Pearly Wong exemplifies both parties great commitment and dedication to making a positive difference in the lives of refugees while strengthening their support to Pearly as friend of the brand.
