Spanning 4,350 square feet, the boutique mirrors the essence of the brand’s iconic Footbed — the foundation of every Birkenstock pair — through the use of authentic, sustainable materials such as cork, leather, and wood. A striking highlight of the space is the Brand Timeline, elegantly displayed on the central pillar. This visual feature narrates over 250 years of Birkenstock’s heritage — from its shoemaking origins in 1774 to its evolution into a global lifestyle symbol. It serves as both a reflection of history and a vision of innovation that continues to guide the brand forward.
Designed by Birkenstock’s in-house retail design team, the 1 Utama boutique represents a design evolution after five years of the brand’s previous retail identity. To celebrate the reopening, the store hosted a series of engaging experiences inspired by self-expression and craftsmanship.
