L’Oréal Malaysia, in partnership with WOMEN:girls, has once again demonstrated its commitment to empowering women in underprivileged situations with the successful completion of the Beauty for a Better Life 2023 program. This initiative focuses on uplifting women through upskilling and professional training in the hairdressing and beauty industry, aiming to provide them with the tools to enhance their economic prospects.
Since its inception in 2016, Beauty for a Better Life has transformed the lives of over 150 women in Malaysia. This year, the program expanded its horizons by introducing a professional makeup and digital beauty module, equipping beneficiaries with the skills to leverage the power of social media for personal and financial growth.
During the graduation ceremony, Tomas Hruska, Managing Director of L’Oréal Malaysia, highlighted the program’s mission of improving lives through inclusive beauty. He stressed that beauty could be a catalyst for individuals facing vulnerability, offering them opportunities to rebuild self-esteem, gain confidence, and enhance overall well-being.
“It is humbling and inspiring to witness the hard work, dedication, and ambition shown by our 2023 beneficiaries. We wish them the best as they embark on their beauty entrepreneurship journey. L’Oréal Malaysia is honored to partner with WOMEN:girls to bring this program to life locally,” added Hruska.
Izza Izelan, Executive Director of WOMEN:girls, expressed her enthusiasm for the collaboration’s impact, emphasizing the transformative power of education. The program not only provided the beneficiaries with essential skill sets for the beauty industry but also offered them the opportunity to develop crucial interpersonal skills for serving customers.
The new professional makeup classes included a groundbreaking module where beneficiaries could create a digital portfolio of their work in the realm of social media. This addition expands their prospects by utilising the digital and financial landscape.
For the beneficiaries, the graduation ceremony marked a significant milestone in their self-actualisation journey. In just three months, they acquired invaluable skills that will enable them to pursue careers as professional hairdressers or makeup artists.
L’Oréal Malaysia initiated the Beauty for a Better Life program in 2016, and through various measures, it has made a tangible impact on the lives of over 150 women. By setting up training centers, providing motivation, conducting masterclasses, and aiding job placement, the program continues to empower women and uplift communities.
