According to a scientific study published by Royal Society Open Science journal and funded by Karolinska Institutet and Stockholm University, it is officially shown that there is a connection between shut eye and perceived attractiveness. Yes, beauty sleep is a real thing!

In the studies, researchers photographed 25 participants after days of both restricted and normal sleep. They then asked 65 women to rate the study’s participants on the attractiveness, health, sleepiness, and trustworthiness. In addition, one’s face can visibly convey a lack of sleep via dark circles, swollen eyelids and etc.

After two consecutive days of just four hours of sleep a night and were photographed, they were viewed as less attractive, less healthy and less trustworthy.
