Many women are always on the lookout for new anti-aging skincare products to keep their youthful skin. There are a massive number of  skincare products in the market. However many of them are waste of money. In fact, some of these products are just marketing gimmicks created by the ad industry to convince you that you will be unhappy if you don’t have them.

Here are three useless beauty products that you just simply don’t need.

1. Fancy face cream that comes with a tiny spoon.

San Diego dermatologist Jeffrey Benabio, MD says, “The purpose of any moisturiser is to seal in moisture, keeping your skin supple and smooth. Whether the moisturiser costs $200 or $20, it uses the same basic ingredients to do that.”

Not all moisturisers are created equal. However avoid those that comes with layers of fancy wrapping or face cream that comes with spoons because chances are, they do the same job as the basic drugstore versions.

2. Facial cleanser that claims to do more than cleansing

“Cleanser stays on your face for about six seconds—no anti-aging ingredient can affect your skin in six seconds,” says Ranella Hirsch, MD, a Boston dermatologist.

Drugstore face wash cleanser are just as well as their expensive counterparts. The main function of cleanser is to keep your face clean by removing impurities and dirt. The ones that claim to possess magical qualities that prevent aging or wrinkles, kindly don’t fall for it. Save your money and splurge on serum instead.

3. Neck Cream

You have heard the warning before: don’t forget your neck! However do you actually need to buy a specific product just for your neck?

The answer is a firm NO.

Those neck creams that you see in the market are just moisturisers with ingredients like peptides that can usually be found in a night cream. Therefore just use that night cream on your neck and chest as well. But if you have oily skin and your moisturizer is the lightweight one, you should get a separate cream for your neck (which has fewer oil glands and needs more hydration than your face).
