The most popular Christmas decoration in Singapore is Orchard Road. This year, Orchard Road has transformed into a magical wonderland, complete with hanging globes and interactive installations for Christmas.

Themed Endless Wonder, the annual light-up spans a 2.88km stretch from Tanglin Mall to Plaza Singapura, and will be turned on daily from 3pm, instead of 6.30pm, so visitors and tourists alike can better enjoy day effects of the decorations.

These lightweight materials can reflect light easily, “even in the daytime you can see the points of light coming out”, said Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA) chairman Mark Shaw.

Another first is a Christmas Village, inspired by those in Europe, which will operate from Nov 25 to Dec 25. Located outside Ngee Ann City, the Christmas Village will feature alfresco dining and pop-up stores from more than 25 brands including Starbucks, PAUL bakery, and Toast Box, as well as a Santa House and two-storey carousel. There will also be nightly “live” performances and a countdown concert on Christmas Eve.

The Christmas light-up along Orchard Road runs until Jan 1, 2018.
