The Mercedes-Benz STYLO Asia Fashion Festival 2016 entered its second showcase of fashion design with a collection from six designers and a playful wrestle for supremacy between the sexes.

“Tonight’s theme – the Battle of the Sexes, is a playful take on the age-old conflicts and interactions between men and women. Tonight we will witness whether women are truly deserving of the term “the fairer sex” in their bid to come up tops in battle. The Battle of the Sexes theme then continues throughout tonight’s show as we line up 3 menswear and 3 womenswear designers together in a showcase battle of fashion creativity”

The theme was carried out throughout the night with even women and men guests separated and sitting in opposite sides of each other. Before the fashion show started, irrepressible showman extraordinaire, Dato’ Kee Hua Chee took to the stage as referee for a humorous 3-round MMA-styled match between the two sexes’ appointed champions – and of course the fairer sex won!

First up on the runway was WONG’s AW 2016 collection of monochrome streetwear, dresses, and jumpsuits. This was quickly followed by a 60s mod and military inspired collection by Jo Disaya. Chunky accessory detailing was seen across JO DISAYA’s AW 2016 collection whilst the overall look was clean and sophisticated for the modern woman.

Next was Bon Zainal’s sharp and dapper, exclusive bespoke tailored menswear. The fabulous showcase continued with Benuea by Altimet’s casual clothing and streetwear for men with an emphasis on sporty graphics. stripes, and clean lines.

A lovely surprise was the showcase by award-winning designer, Illiza Ho, with her unorthodox and uniquely crafted shoulder bags, totes, and satchels for women. The fashion showcase ended with Roslan Wilkinson’s handcrafted batik block print shirts and comfortable tropical casual wear in voile cotton from his Heritage Collection.
