Malaysia’s Largest Coffee Festival to Kick-Off July 12 at 1 Utama Shopping Centre

All coffee lovers will have bigger and better reasons to celebrate this year as Malaysia’s largest coffee festival gears up for a bigger and better second coffee festival to be held at 1 Utama Shopping Centre for the very first time, from July 12th to 15th, 2018.

Fans of the dark beverage can expect to soak in a four-day caffeine-fuelled festivities which will see the convergence of top-class baristas, local artisan coffee bean roasters, independent specialty coffee houses, coffee bean purveyors and suppliers, and coffee equipment distributors and manufacturers – to celebrate Malaysia’s vibrant coffee culture and scene. Visitors will be spoilt for choice at the array of coffee machines and accessories, coffee beans and tea leaves, and the wide selections of heady brews and concoctions.

To add a sweet spot at the festivities, the public and visitors will find a smorgasbord of local bakeries serving up distinctive pastries and treats which will pair up perfectly with the finest coffee and tea!

At the second instalment of the Malaysia Coffee Fest, coffee-lovers and the public will be treated to a spectacular aromatic treat of the humble bean from more than 30 local and international exhibitors, as well as an array of fun coffee-related activities and contests such as a Sure Win Dip where visitors will stand a chance to win a mysterious gift. Visitors can also have a go with Lady Luck at the Lucky Draw Contest for the chance to win exclusive prizes.

Over four days, festival-goers can catch and be amazed by the nimble and dexterous skills of contestants battling for top spots in three national coffee championships, live on stage:

  1. Malaysia Open Latter Art Championship 2018 (MOLAC 2018, 13 to 15 July)
  2. Malaysia Open Barista Championship 2018 (MOBC 2018, 12 to 15 July)
  3. and the inaugural Roastedly Open Drip Bag Coffee Championship (Malaysia) 2018 – (14 July) where the crowned champion will bag a cash prize of RM15,000

Several invaluable Coffee Clinic sessions by coffee experts are lined-up for visitors who are eager to gain insights on of the humble beverage with topics such as “Journey from Bean to Cup”, “Brewing Made Easy”, “Espresso Yourself”, “Shaken, Not Stirred”, “Raising Your Standards of Coffee”, and “Coffee & Health”. For those who are looking forward to gain an insightful knowledge and tips on opening and running a café business, do not miss the learning session on “So, You Want To Open A Café?”.
