Seindah Corak Aidilfitri at Sunway Pyramid Weaves Heritage, Art, and Festive Joy

This Raya season, Sunway Pyramid invites visitors to rediscover the beauty of Malaysian heritage through Seindah Corak Aidilfitri — a celebration where tradition meets contemporary storytelling.

Running from 27 February to 29 March, the mall’s LG2 Blue Concourse is transformed into a vibrant cultural showcase inspired by the intricate artistry of traditional Malay textiles. Drawing from the rich visual language of songket, tenun, batik, and tekat, the immersive installation breathes new life into heritage patterns, reimagining them in a modern setting that feels both nostalgic and refreshingly current.

At the heart of the experience is a remarkable display of original Malay songket and traditional textiles dating back to the 1920s, curated by collector Mohammad Khairulanwar Rahmat. Each piece tells a story of craftsmanship and cultural legacy, offering visitors a rare glimpse into the artistry that has shaped Malaysia’s textile heritage for generations.

Adding a contemporary twist, Sunway Pyramid has partnered with Sunway University to introduce an Augmented Reality (AR) feature. By scanning QR codes across the concourse, visitors can unlock the stories, symbolism, and techniques behind each textile motif — bridging heritage with digital discovery.

Beyond the exhibition, festive nostalgia awaits with traditional games like congkak and batu seremban, alongside picturesque Raya photo spots perfect for capturing the season’s joy.

Shoppers can also explore the Raya Market by Sukaseni, offering handcrafted local finds and festive essentials. Meanwhile, the mall’s Spend & Redeem programme features the charming SURI Handmade Raya Pouch, created with SURI Lifestyle — supporting single and underprivileged mothers through meaningful craft and livelihood opportunities.
