Samsung Turns Galaxy Watch into an AI Health Companion with Smarter Daily Wellness Insights

Samsung is taking its wearable game a step further with a fresh update to the Samsung Health app, positioning the upcoming Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. Galaxy Watch as more than just a fitness tracker — but a more proactive, AI-powered health companion.

Rolling out from 8 June 2026, the update enhances how users interact with their daily health data through the Samsung Health app. Instead of simply collecting metrics, the system now translates sleep, activity and body signals into clearer, more actionable insights.

From Tracking to True Health Guidance

At the core of the update is a shift towards more intuitive wellness monitoring on the upcoming Galaxy Watch lineup.

One of the key additions is Vitals, which reviews five overnight biometrics — heart rate, heart rate variability, respiratory rate, skin temperature and blood oxygen — and only alerts users when something meaningfully deviates from their personal baseline. The idea is to reduce “alert fatigue” while still flagging potential signs of illness or fatigue.

Another standout feature, Heart Health Score, builds on previous vascular load tracking by combining sleep, stress, activity and body composition into a single daily indicator. It offers a more holistic snapshot of long-term cardiovascular wellness.

For those focused on training, Daily Cardio Load helps balance exercise intensity and recovery, while Fitness Index tracks progress over time using VO2 max, heart rate and step data compared with broader peer benchmarks.

A Simpler, More Connected Wellness View

The redesigned Samsung Health interface is now structured around five pillars — Sleep, Activity, Nutrition, Mindfulness and Vitals — helping users understand how different habits connect rather than exist in isolation.

This is further supported by expanded features like the Antioxidant Index and enhanced AGEs tracking, which aim to give users longer-term insights into how lifestyle choices accumulate in the body.

Samsung is also introducing Hearing Health, which monitors environmental noise through the Galaxy Watch to help users manage exposure in daily settings such as commutes or workouts.

A Step Toward AI-Powered Wellness

According to Samsung, the goal is to move from reactive tracking to proactive guidance — where users don’t just see what happened, but get a clearer sense of what to do next.

The update is part of Samsung’s broader push into connected digital health across its Galaxy ecosystem, where smartphones and wearables work together to deliver more unified wellness insights.
