LEGO x MODA Present Region’s First LEGO Botanicals Couture Showcase in KL

Brick by brick, couture came to life on the runway as LEGO and the Malaysian Official Designers’ Association (MODA) presented a fashion experience like no other — a botanical fantasy built from creativity, craftsmanship, and vibrant LEGO bricks.

Set against the dreamy backdrop of the LEGO Botanical Glasshouse — Asia’s first immersive LEGO floral garden installation at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur — the LEGO x MODA Botanicals Fashion Show transformed LEGO flowers into wearable art, proving that imagination has no boundaries, even in high fashion.

A total of 23 Malaysian designers — including luminaries such as Celest Thoi, Fiziwoo, Melinda Looi, Tangoo, Jimmy Lim, Variante by Leslie Variyan, and rising creatives like Ashley @ Kapas, NANALYANA, Atelier Che, and more — were challenged to reinterpret LEGO’s Botanicals collection into fashion statements. They presented a stunning runway filled with gowns, structured ensembles, avant-garde pieces, and whimsical accessories — all adorned with brick-built florals, LEGO petals, and botanical-inspired embellishments handcrafted with meticulous precision.

Drawing inspiration from sets like the 10374 LEGO® Botanicals Bouquet of Pink Roses, 10313 Wildflower Bouquet, and 10348 Japanese Red Maple Bonsai Tree, designers played with:

  • Pastel rose blooms for romantic femininity
  • Vibrant wildflowers for youthful energy
  • Minimalist bonsai-inspired structures for sculptural silhouettes
  • Tiny LEGO petals repurposed into couture detailing

Each outfit told a story — of transformation, joy, and reinvention — showing how something as familiar as LEGO bricks could become a symbol of creative luxury when placed in the hands of fashion visionaries.

The fashion showcase unfolded within the enchanting LEGO Botanical Glasshouse, a full-scale walkthrough installation inspired by the 21353 LEGO® Ideas The Botanical Garden set. Visitors were transported into a world filled with:

  • A giant LEGO pink rose sculpture
  • A tranquil bonsai gallery created by local LEGO fans
  • A floral throne and JOY corner for photographs
  • A fountain and diorama showcasing LEGO artistry

“This fashion showcase redefines how adults can engage with LEGO — not just through building, but through storytelling and style,” shared Nina Patricia Da Costa, General Manager of Singapore, Malaysia and APAC Travel Retail, The LEGO Group.
