Pavilion Kuala Lumpur played host to a spectacular occasion on November 23, as Swiss watch brand Rado opened the doors to its brand-new boutique. Headlined by South Korean superstar and Rado ambassador Ji Chang-wook, the event was a thrilling mix of celebrity glamour and high-end horology.
Hundreds of fans lined the red carpet, eager for a glimpse of the beloved actor as he arrived alongside Rado CEO Adrian Bosshard. The joyous atmosphere continued at the Centre Court stage, where Bosshard presented the day’s second highlight: the first yellow-colored Rado DiaStar Original featuring the brand’s groundbreaking Ceramos™ bezel.
Ji Chang-wook became the proud owner of this special edition timepiece, a reimagining of the iconic yellow-gold DiaStar Original that has captivated watch enthusiasts since 1972.
The excitement reached fever pitch as the star and CEO, joined by Pavilion Mall’s CEO (Retail) Dato’ Joyce Yap, Senior Director of Retail and Leasing Lovell Ho, Rado’s Vice President of Marketing Rico Steiner, and Brand Manager for Malaysia Penny Chong, cut the ribbon to officially open the new boutique which located at Level 2.
Occupying 94 square metres of floor space, the new Rado boutique features the watch brand’s Shades of Time boutique concept. One of its highlights is a unique ceramic experience counter – the first in Malaysia – where the guests were introduced to Rado’s signature material. And, of course, the brand’s most popular watches are appealingly displayed, each reflecting Rado’s legendary design DNA and its status as the Master of Materials.
“We knew that it was going to be a great event, but I don’t think any of us realized how many people would show up,” remarked Ji Chang-wook, overwhelmed by the enthusiastic response. “Everyone here in Kuala Lumpur gave me an amazing welcome and I look forward to coming back when I have more time. By the way, it was such a pleasure to be here with Adrian and the entire Rado team. I love the new watch!”
