Paradigm Mall Petaling Jaya is gearing up for a cheerful Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration this year, as the mall is collaborating with Malaysia’s longest running and highly popular comic series, ‘Gila-Gila’.
The mall’s ‘Raya Ria Bersama Gila-Gila’ campaign will start from 26 May 2017 till 2 July 2017. During this period, shoppers will get to immerse themselves in the quirky world of Gila-Gila as Paradigm Mall PJ will recreate the world of Gila-Gila through the décor and ambiance of the mall.
To kick start the whole campaign, the mall has organised several wholesome and fun-filled activities based on the characters, scenes or storyline from the well-known magazine which will most definitely be exciting for the entire family.
Not to be missed are the iconic scenes and its main characters from the comic magazine that will come to “life” at the Upper Atrium of Level UG. The entire area will look like a section of the Gila-Gila magazine featuring booths named after the magazine’s characters, which include A Mamud Salon, Tauke and Tiga Dara Pingitan.
In addition to that, the showcase area will also feature theatrical performances by talented dancers, displaying their unique take on the scenes from the comic and buskers busking to the tunes of Raya. It will also be a trip down memory lane for some as there will be interactive games where children and adults can participate in during the weekends or Public Holidays, such as guli, batu seremban, ketingting, lompat tali and many more. For children, it will be a fun time at the mall as they could also participate in workshops to showcase their best skills in art.
To top it all off, the mall will also invite the magazine’s founder, Mr Jaafar Taib, together with their main cartoonists, where they will be conducting live caricature sessions for the public on a first come first serve basis. Shoppers are advised to queue early as there will only be limited slots available. During this period of time, the mall will also exhibit the drawings and paintings done by the talented cartoonists behind the Gila-Gila magazine’s editorial board.
Throughout Paradigm Mall PJ’s Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebration, shoppers who spend a minimum of RM100 (RM50 for UOB card holders) in two same-day receipts (excluding purchases made at Tesco, prepaid reloads, money changers and bills payments) will be able to redeem exclusively designed Gila-Gila themed Hari Raya packets and a greeting card.
Shoppers can also look forward to a delectable buka puasa session with their family or friends as Paradigm Mall PJ houses a wide variety of F&B outlets. With so many outlets to choose from, shoppers are definitely in for a satisfying meal. Outlets of such include Heritage Village, Nando’s, Plan B, Satay-Satay, Serai, Seoul Garden, The Chicken Rice Shop and so much more.
