Starhill Gallery Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2017 (SS2017) returns for the 7th year and will be taking place from April 12-15, 2017 at the Starhill Gallery Adorn Concourse. The 4-days fashion event will showcase the latest collections from both international and local designer labels including Australian luxe label, ae’Ikemi by Alvin Fernandez, Newfangled by Celest Thoi, Syomir Gupta Ready-to-Wear SS2017, Nurita Harith Lebaran Luxe and many more.

During the opening party of Starhill Gallery Fashion Week SS2017 which took place last night, the latest trends of SS2017 collections were unveiled by exclusive designer labels housed in Starhill Gallery, including Valentino, Kenzo, McQ Alexander McQueen, M Missoni, Debenhams, Mita Tam Studio and iKarrtini.

Pamper.My_shgfw2The runway opened with Kenzo, which celebrated the cultural euphoria portrayed in menswear and womenswear with garments characterising expressions of freedom.

Pamper.My_shgfw3M Missoni took the stage with a SS2017 collection with theme “Glitter Glam”, inspired by the upbeat and feminine woman, featuring vivid colours and bold lines inspired by graphism to modern art to the hippie-folk movement.

Pamper.My_shgfw4Later McQ Alexander McQuuen delivered a 90s interpretation of the 70s in its SS2017 collection, Pop culture’s infamous icons. David Bowie, Iggy Pop and Lydia Lunch were muses for this range.

Pamper.My_shgfw5Then the runway welcomed Italian fashion label, Valentino with a collection inspired by the renaissance painting of Hieronymus Bosch and British designer Sandra Rhodes’ lively prints.

Pamper.My_shgfw6iKarrtini, a Malaysian label showcasing a SS2017 collection features batik as an art of creating patterns.

Pamper.My_shgfw7With the theme “Break Free”, light patterns as well as colourful floral dresses for both casual and formal occasions were a prominence in Mita Tam Style Studio SS2017 collection.

Pamper.My_shgfw8Debenhams took the stage by showcasing its latest SS2017 collection for fans who adore British fashion.

The night was further elevated by a special Malaysian debut fashion show by Australian luxe-label, ae’Ikemi by the award winning fashion designer, Alvin Fernandez. During the opening, Fernandez featured 20 beautiful pieces from his SS2017 ready-to-wear and couture collections. The guests of the night also had the privilege of viewing bespoke pieces at the ae’Ikemi Signature Store, which will be opened at Starhill Gallery until May 10, 2017.
