Malaysian fashion witnessed a landmark moment as Sofia Iman, in collaboration with Suria KLCC, opened Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week (KLFW) 2025 with a breathtaking showcase titled “Heritage Reimagined, Style Redefined”. The highly anticipated opening show took place on 4 August and drew a 500-strong crowd, marking a powerful celebration of Malaysian heritage, culture, and craftsmanship — reinterpreted for today’s fashion stage.
The grand opening was a deeply meaningful affair attended by key personalities including Andrew Tan, Founder of KLFW, and Datuk Sr Mohd. Salem Kailany, Group CEO of KLCC (Holdings) Sdn Bhd. Guests, many adorned in elegant songket and batik, echoed the show’s theme and reinforced the country’s rich textile legacy.
A highlight of the evening was the collaborative spirit woven into the presentation. Sofia Iman’s vision was interpreted by eight celebrated Malaysian designers — ABU, Ashley @ Kapas, Atelier Prive Melson, FUZA by Fuzana Mokhtaza, Jimmy Lim, Jimmy Wong, TANGOO, and Uzair Shoid — each contributing modern takes on traditional motifs. The show honoured the artistry of Terengganu master weavers, bringing songket into contemporary relevance with new silhouettes, global appeal, and refined tailoring.

Francis Tan, Executive Director and CEO of Suria KLCC Sdn Bhd, shared,
“Our collaboration with Sofia Iman for KLFW 2025 exemplifies Suria KLCC’s commitment to nurturing local talent and showcasing Malaysia’s creative DNA. From a small promotional booth in 2008 to the opening show of KLFW, Sofia Iman’s journey reflects what belief and perseverance can achieve.”
He also announced the upcoming Rizman Ruzaini boutique opening at Suria KLCC in Q3 2025, further cementing the mall’s role as a destination for iconic Malaysian fashion.
For Sofia Iman, this KLFW debut was more than a milestone — it was a statement.
