The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show 2017 in Shanghai gathered 55 top models from 20 countries at the Mercedes-Benz Arena for the biggest fashion show yet the lingerie brand has ever done in its 22-year history.
This year’s catwalk show saw 88 runway looks and 38 pairs of wings modelled by Victoria’s Secret Angels by the likes of Adriana Lima, Candice Swanepoel, Alessandra Ambrosio (who’s saying goodbye to Victoria’s Secret runway for good) and Bella Hadid, whose sister, Gigi, had to drop out of the show last minute. The extravagant stage also welcomed fresh faces such as Vanessa Moody, Grace Bol and Dasha Khlystun.
Over 3,000 people were in presence to witness the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show which as past years is split into segmented themes and featured crowd-pleasing performances by Harry Styles, Miguel, Jane Zhang and Leslie Odom Jr.
Model Elsa Hosk strutted down the runway sporting a fierce look crafted using over 250,000 Swarovski crystals for the “Nomadic Adventure” section while Sanne Vloet donned 2,320 olive leaves wings by Kirk Maxson in the “Goddesses” segment. The highlight as in every Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show is, however, the $2 million Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra worn by Lais Riberio. The next segment “Porcelain Angel” showcased hand-painted pieces and the most anticipated section “Punk Angel”, saw 23 edgy outfits designed by Balmain’s own Olivier Rousteing.
