KLFW RTW 2017 Day 2: THAVIA, Mimpi Kita, FARAH KHAN & Ka Sha (India)

Day 2 of the ongoing Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready-to-Wear 2017 is high on vibrant hues and incredible sense of effortless glamour as designers send models down the runway in reinvented classics that shout business casual and after-dark allure.

THAVIA

Remaining true to its brand DNA, THAVIA brings a modern twist to classic shapes while still retaining the refined chic identity with the debut of their latest collection, ‘The Estate’. The collection tells a heartfelt story of glamour and extravagance starting with Anna’s first trip to her mother’s closet. Key pieces include knotted neck tops, long-sleeved dress with pleated hemline and pockets, and zip-up skirt.

Ka Sha (India)

Indian designer Ka Sha’s collection is all about mixing Western and homegrown influences, suited for the contemporary woman and rooted in quintessentially Indian sensibilities. Micro detailing meets loose silhouettes in a delightful candy-coloured lineup with pieces like ombre hippie skirt, saree style dress and bandghala jacket stealing the show.

Mimpi Kita

Straying away from their casual luxury philosophy, Mimpi Kita translates the definite term ‘fashion as a playground’ into life with all things girly. Quirky pop and whimsical prints lend a youthful playfulness to elegant cocktail wear as polka dot gets juxtaposed with stripes and geometric prints.

FARAH KHAN

The eponymous label, FARAH KHAN, celebrates a decade of style with a very special segment to open the show featuring friends of the brand who rocked the runway sporting FARAH KHAN glamorous creations including actress Izara Aishah, Zahida Rafik, Miss World Malaysia 2010 and TV host Thanuja Ananthan, Lee Jim Leng, Rozita Ajmain and more. In exploration of new way of styling, sequinned bombers are worn with puffy tulle skirts and creamy lace shorts for the Pop Princesses collection. With its signature intricate embellishments, the brand also referenced the 20th century artists like Pablo Picasso, Juan Gris, Henri Matisse, Diego Rivera and Wassily Kandinsky, turning their famous paintings into wearable art.
