WILKa is a new local fashion brand created by socialite Katrina Ponnampalam Chia who brings her won sense of style as inspiration to her label. With the personality of independent, classy, fun-loving and edgy, the WILKA collection is designed for women who always on-the-go, want to look good and feel comfortable all the time.
WILKA was launched last night at Live Huose @TREC with the private preview of the brand’s Spring/Summer 2017 (SS2017) collection. The WILKA SS2017 collection features both muted and bright colours like electric blue, crimson and fuchsia meet the pastels, lilac, cream, soft pink and baby blue.
Romanticism is played up with a simple spaghetti strap dress with effortless draping jersey ruffles. The jersey knit also clutches, and cleverly accentuates the female curve of several dresses, accented by a variety of necklines and shoulder cutouts. A sexy backline never hurt, and the backless romper with knit lace details and kimono sleeves add sass with chevron print alternatives. Flexibility is always welcome with the two-piece, a matching ruffled blouse and shorts, while ultimate comfort resides in the palazzo jumpsuit which mimics a maxi wrap dress. WILKA’s signature jumpsuit comes strapless with a playful ruffle down the side while an extended peplum flatters the waistline, ruffles in tow, and thus completing the WILKA SS2017 look.
