COS Spring Summer 2018 Explores Organic Shapes & Natural Materials

An ode to the past, present and imagined future, COS Spring Summer 2018 takes on organic shapes and natural materials to revamp basic pieces. The result is a slew of understated modern classics cut and drape in a clean, concise way which are invariably imbued with quiet drama.

From the pattern cutting, paper draping to 3D work, the qualities of paper plays a major role in the collection as evidenced in some of the key pieces. Three-piece garment is introduced which make use of new fabrics as well as voluminous pieces that collapse on the body.

Designs make use of surprising materials and details are meticulously misplaced to give that element of surprise. Cotton is explored in various forms – textured, coated, crisp and crumpled while silk, chunky paper yarn and starched summer wool give birth to knits with varying weights. The collection is finished off with a refined palette of optic white, summer brown, powdered blue, leaf green, red clay and more.
