British television presenter and model Alexa Chung is launching her own clothing line next year May. The announcement was made during an exclusive interview with Business of Fashion.

Chung will serve as creative director at the helm of Alexachung, a contemporary-priced ready-to-wear line. She will lead a team of six designers with help from Edwin Bodson, who previously worked at Haider Ackermann, as managing director.

Chung’s clothing line will be selling denim, day and evening wear, jewelry, shoes, and other products. The items will be for sale at Selfridges, Galeries Lafayette, Matchesfashion.com, MyTheresa.com, SSENSE and on an Alexachung e-commerce site.

“I’m not making something that has got a crazy high price point. I want to make sure its something that is speaking to just everyone on the street.,” Chung explained.

Chung has been designing for some time. Some of her notable fashion endeavors include running the fashion mood board app Villoid, and a popular Mulberry bag was named after her in 2009.
