The cast of Hong Kong-Chinese action film “Call of Heroes” Sean Lau Ching Wan and Eddie Peng Yu Yan were in Malaysia on August 17 to promote the movie, alongside director Benny Chan.

Call Of Heroes is set in the year 1914, with Lau playing the whip-wielding leader of a village that has to stand up to an evil warlord, played by Louis Koo. Peng portrays a wandering warrior who comes to their aid.

coh-1In order to pull off the role, Lau has injured himself several times while practising the chain whipping scene. He further mentioned that he took the chain back home as a souvenir.

“We just keep the chain in the house and didn’t take it [chain] out, because worried about occurrence of domestic violence,” Lau jokingly shared during the press conference.

coh-2If there is one Taiwanese actor known for playing hunky, good looking characters, it is Eddie Peng. This time the 34-year-old heartthrob did something out of the ordinary by dressing up like a hobo and sports messy beard to play Ma Feng in the movie, which is something the fans probably never seen before.

“[Ma Feng] he is too hairy.” he laughed. Nonetheless he still enjoys playing the character, and further mentioned that he would like to try more this sort of role in future.

Asked if he feel stressful to always look good all the time, he mentioned he would try his best to look as good as he can, Peng said, “In my personal life, I don’t think I look good all the time.”

In recent years, Peng took up a lot of action films. Asked if he is interested in venturing into the action genre, he replied,”It is a little bit tough.” He also revealed that Wu Jing (who portrays Zhang Yi in the movie) cheekily asked him to become a martial art star.
