Alas, Halloween is just a week away and if you’re still stuck in a rut on what character to personify this year, how about channelling your inner twisted ballerina a la ‘Black Swan’?
Though we can’t replicate the exact look created by makeup artist, Judy Chin on Natalie Portman in the movie, our evangelist, Ren did an awesome ‘Black Swan’ inspired Halloween makeup look which you can use for Halloween too! So put on your tutus and let the show begin!
Here are the step-by-step to our Black Swan Halloween Makeup:
1. Create a flawless base with the shu uemura Petal Skin Fluid Foundation SPF20++ and shu uemura Point Cealer to cover your dark circles. Set the base with the shu uemura Face Powder Matte.
2. Contour the sides of your nose to make it look sharper with a matte cool-toned brown powder, Ren used the innisfree Mineral Single Shadow No.5.
3. Add highlighter on your nose bridge, cupid’s bow, and middle of your forehead, she used the highlighter end of the Diorblush Colour & Light in 003 Rose Pearl.
4. Create sharp brows just like a black feather with the blackest pencil eyeliner you have, you can go for the Dior Long-Wear Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil in 094 Trinidad Black.
5. Make a cut crease with a matte black eyeshadow, Ren used the shade, Punk from the Tarte Tarteist™ PRO Amazonian Clay Palette.
6. Use the Maybelline Eyestudio Lasting Drama Gel Liner in Blackest Black to line your eyes, create a dramatic wing.
7. Clean up the cut crease with a matte white eyeshadow or in our case, since we didn’t have one, we used the Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color Loaded Bolds in Wickedly White.
8. Apply a dark burgundy lipstick all over your lips, she used the Rouge Dior in 781 Enigmatic and add some black lipstick on the inner centre of your lips such as the Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color Loaded Bolds in Pitch Black.
9. Blend a reddish brown shade under your eyes to add a ghoulish look, for this look, she used Mod from the Tarte Tarteist™ PRO Amazonian Clay Palette.
10. Add some ‘veins’ under your eyes to amp up the look, use a thin brush and brush some of the burgundy lipstick to create the veins.
11. If you want, you can top up your lips with the Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color Loaded Bolds in Pitch Black to turn into the Black Swan.
