PANTENE, the world leading hair care brand continues to empower women around the world with the launch of #WANITABESI, a campaign encouraging Malaysian women to be the best version of themselves.

The campaign marked a new chapter of PANTENE “Strong is beautiful” story with the premiere of #WANITABESI , a short film starring PANTENE MALAYSIA Brand Ambassador, Yuna alongside two high profile Malaysian women, Health and Fitness star Linora Low and former Malaysian National Team Diver Adeline Chin. Drawing inspiration from real-life events from their lives, the film tells the story of how they each triumphed by staying strong over adversity.

Forming the soundtrack of the film is the well-known song for every woman in Malaysia, the nursery rhyme “Bangun Pagi”. Sung by a Malaysian girl choir, the song is given a unique twist, with a re-written final verse that transforms it from a child’s song, into an anthem of strength.

“I feel honoured to be chosen as the new PANTENE MALAYSIA ambassador.  For years PANTENE  has always been part of my hair care regime and I truly love the brand for inspiring women by building up confidence through strong is beautiful campaign” said Yuna at the launch event.

In Malaysia, girls who chose to follow unconventional pastimes or non-traditional careers are often criticized for not fitting into the “ideal concept” of femininity.  In many cases the lack of family support, the weight of society expectations and peer pressure, forces them to doubt themselves and cast aside their passion.

Following the cinema release, #WANITABESI had been launched worldwide on YouTube on June 25th.
