A Cut Above, Malaysia’s premier group of salons celebrated its 40th anniversary in style with a gala musical cum hair show. With the theme of “Where Hair Meets Art”, all of the guests were treated to an art exhibition which features 20 mannequins adorned in fashion from the 70s to the noughties before making their way to the ballroom for the highlight of the show.

At the hair show, there was a stage act and musical depicting A Cut Above’s iconic founder Datin Winnie Loo’s journey through the decades, from her teenage life, romantic life till a successful career.

As of today, A Cut Above has five outlets and an academy with two sister brands named as Restyle and X-cut.

Datin Winnie, Founder of A Cut Above also shared that they limited their rate of expansion as they wanted to have full control of quality. “We want to ensure the best talent is providing top-notch service to our customers,” said Datin Winnie Loo.

Datin Winnie thanks everyone for their support over the 40 years.

She also added and said that she still styles her loyal customers which become her friends. To her, long-term relationships with customers will offer invaluable fashion advice personalized to each individual.

In terms of business, Datin Winnie Loo’s husband Datuk Richard Teo shared that they have managed to stay strong for 40 years due to their core values and delivering premium quality service and products while staying in tune with the latest fashion trends. He also added that there is a five-year plan to add one more A Cut Above outlet and six more Restyle outlets, bringing the total to six and 10 outlets respectively.
