Basically, there are two types of hair waxing: cold waxing and hot waxing, each of which has their own pros and cons.<\/p>\n<h3 lang=\"en-GB\"><b>Hot Wax<\/b><\/h3>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\">Hot wax can be divided into two types: hard wax and soft wax. Nevertheless, both work in the same way. As the name suggests, you melt the wax beforehand and apply when it\u2019s still hot. Then, you put a cloth strip on it to remove it later (if you use soft wax) or just remove it by hand (if you use hard wax). When hot wax dries up, it sticks to the hair, making it easy for you to pull your hair out in the opposite direction of hair growth.<\/p>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\"><b>The advantages of hot wax:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li lang=\"en-GB\">The heat opens your pores and softens the hair follicles to some extent, making it easier to pull out.<\/li>\n<li lang=\"en-GB\">It sticks to the hair really well, allowing you to remove all of your hair at once.<\/li>\n<li lang=\"en-GB\">It can be used to remove short hair (as short as 1mm).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\"><b>The disadvantages of hot wax:<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li lang=\"en-GB\">It\u2019s easy to burn the skin.<\/li>\n<li lang=\"en-GB\">It\u2019s messy and can be hard to remove if you let it dry up too much.<\/li>\n<li lang=\"en-GB\">The preparation takes time.<\/li>\n<li><span lang=\"en-GB\">Must be performed with correct techniques.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 lang=\"en-GB\"><b>Cold Wax<\/b><\/h3>\n<p lang=\"en-GB\">Cold wax comes on pre-made strips that you can use immediately after buying. Just cup the strips in your palms to warm them up a bit so they stick better and there you go. Cold wax strips should be pressed down towards the direction of hair growth then pulled out in the opposite direction.<\/p>\n<p><b>The advantages of cold wax<\/b><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li lang=\"en-GB\">It\u2019s easy to use.<\/li>\n<li lang=\"en-GB\">It\u2019s affordable.<\/li>\n<li lang=\"en-GB\">It\u2019s not messy.<\/li>\n<li lang=\"en-GB\">It\u2019s less painful.<\/li>\n<li lang=\"en-GB\">It does not take time to prepare<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The disadvantages of cold wax<\/b><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It may not stick well to the hair.<\/li>\n<li lang=\"en-GB\">It may need to be used repeatedly in one area to get all the hair out, which can irritate the skin.<\/li>\n<li lang=\"en-GB\">It may cause ingrown hair.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Which one is better: Cold waxing or hot waxing?<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"en-GB\">The answer depends on your targeted area, your skin type, and certain circumstances. Hot wax is better if you have time to prepare and if you have coarser hair. It\u2019s also suitable for those with sensitive skin as it\u2019s less irritating. On the flip side, if you do not have much time to prepare and clean up the mess caused by hot wax, cold wax should be your best friend. It\u2019s generally less painful and effective against thin hair.
