Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding were all over the news and social media last week. From Priyanka’s\u00a075 feet tulle veil to the couple’s happy moment captured\u00a0at the Mehendi ceremony, the wedding seems to be topping off Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding as wedding of the year.<\/p>\n

The one-week celebrations kicked off on November 26th with a dinner party and a traditional puja<\/strong>\u00a0ceremony on November 28th at Priyanka’s mother, Dr. Madhy Chopra’s home.<\/p>\n

A mehndi or mehendi<\/strong>\u00a0– a ceremony before the wedding where the bride has her henna done was held to wish\u00a0the bride good health and prosperity as she makes her journey on to marriage. Priyanka wore a “fabulously folksy, multi-hued organdy ensemble, inspired by vintage AJSK (Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla) collection teamed with heirloom jewellery designed by AJSK [which is crafted] by Saboo at AJSK”, according to deisgner Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla while Nick looked equally dashing in an aqua bakhiya kurta.<\/p>\n

On Friday, November 30th a sangeet<\/strong>\u00a0took place at\u00a0Umaid Bhavan Palace in Jodhpur where both sides of the bride and groom’s families performed to celebrate the happy couple. Priyanka was all smiles in\u00a0a fully hand embroidered sequinned sari in gold and silver and Nick looked handsome in an open midnight blue sherwani with silk thread detailing.<\/p>\n

The Christian ceremony, officiated by Nick’s dad Paul Kevin Jonas Sr., was held on the next day and what a grand occasion it was. Priyanka wore a custom Ralph Lauren strapless column dress embellished with pearlescent sequins overlaid with a hand-embroidered high-neck coat with scalloped sleeves and satin-covered buttons which took 1,8266 hours to complete paired with a 75 feet tulle veil. Did you know that the embroidery included eight words and phrases like “family”, “hope” and “compassion” as chosen by Priyanka?<\/p>\n

Nick, on the other hand, wore a Purple Label double-breasted tuxedo complete with a secret piece – the bride’s hand-embroidered dress with the Urdu words “My Jaan” (My Life) stitched to the interior lapel of the jacket, just above his heart.<\/p>\n

As for the Hindu ceremony that follows, the bride wore a beautiful red lehenga by Sabyasachi Mukherjee, hand-cut and hand-embroidered with organza flowers, French knots in silk floss embellished with delicate Sim-red crystals perfected by 110 embroiderers from Calcutta, India finished with jewellery crafted out of uncut diamonds with tiny stars, emeralds and Japanese cultured pearls in 22K gold.<\/p>\n

Looking like a hero out of a Bollywood movie, Nick sported a hand-quilted silk sherwani with hand-embroidered chikan dupatta and chanderi tissue safe. The groom also wore a rose cut kalgi and syndicate diamond necklace from Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelery collection.<\/p>\n
