It seems that Karl Lagerfeld isn’t slowing down anytime soon. The designer, who is helming Chanel, Fendi and his eponymous label under his belt, will be responsible for adding two new capsule collections to Chanel’s ready-to-wear line.<\/p>\n

The idea to come up with beach and ski swimwear lines, Coco Beach and Coco Neige, was realized when Lagerfeld went on a vacation in Saint-Tropez in the summer and noticed there’s a lack of beachwear selections in the Chanel store. The capsules, which will hit stores in June, are meant to give customers what they need, said president of fashion at Chanel Bruno Pavlovsky.<\/p>\n

Set to release across 26 stores nationwide, the Coco Beach will feature bikinis, swimsuits, bandannas, terry cloth beach cover-ups, denim pieces, espadrilles and bags. In a classic Chanel way, the swimwear will\u00a0come\u00a0in black with a satiny finish and the iconic double-C logo or a lattice motif set on pink or red fabric.<\/p>\n

The Coco Neige, on the other hand, will include technical\u00a0items like nylon ski pants, tweed-trimmed down jackets, and more casual pieces such as light green quilted coat with a Coco Neige logo and a black hoodie with a quilted camellia pattern as well as shearling bootes and bags. The ski line is expected to reach the racks\u00a0in\u00a0July onwards alongside the fall lineup. It will be distributed more widely than the Coco Beach and will be made available at ski resorts such as\u00a0Courchevel, where Chanel opens an exclusive pop-up store during winter.<\/p>\n

The idea is to skew more toward technical clothes, because I think both apr\u00e8s-ski and sport are largely covered in our existing collections. So this is a way of taking the time to work on products that are a little bit more technical and that require more time in terms of development,\u201d said Pavlovsky.<\/p>\n
