{"id":70028,"date":"2018-03-20T09:00:58","date_gmt":"2018-03-20T01:00:58","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/?p=70028"},"modified":"2018-03-19T12:34:53","modified_gmt":"2018-03-19T04:34:53","slug":"philips-opens-southeast-asias-1st-sleep-respiratory-education-center-singapore","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/health\/treatment-healing\/philips-opens-southeast-asias-1st-sleep-respiratory-education-center-singapore\/","title":{"rendered":"Philips Opens Southeast Asia\u2019s 1st Sleep and Respiratory Education Center in Singapore"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In conjunction with the\u00a0World Sleep Day on March 16, \u00a0<a href=\"htpp:\/\/www.philips.com\" target=\"_blank\">Royal Philips<\/a>, a global leader in health technology, inaugurated\u00a0Southeast Asia\u2019s first Sleep and Respiratory Education Center at its regional headquarters, the Philips APAC Center, in Singapore, to train healthcare professionals across the region to better diagnose and treat sleep disorders.<\/p>\n<p>The Sleep and Respiratory Education Centre is the first-of-its-kind innovation facility to provide free training for the region\u2019s healthcare professionals.\u00a0The 102 square-meter facility is designed to accurately simulate a patient\u2019s sleep diagnosis journey &#8211; from a life-sized mock-up of a patient\u2019s bedroom for sleep observation to a monitoring room where sleep technicians score and analyze sleep data, and a doctor\u2019s consultation room. Qualified sleep specialists from high-profile hospital and healthcare group partners including SingHealth will also be conducting training.<\/p>\n<p>To improve clinical outcomes in sleep therapy and care, Philips and SingHealth signed an MoU in August last year to collaborate on providing integrated quality patient care, clinical education and research efforts, as well as to increase public awareness of OSA. Philips will bring its more than 30 years of leadership in sleep apnea management and respiratory care solutions supporting the patient\u2019s journey from diagnosis through to therapy and management of OSA. Philips and SingHealth will partner in joint research projects, fellowship training and sleep awareness and outreach programs in Singapore and the region.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond diagnostic knowledge, Philips\u2019 Sleep and Respiratory Education Center is also designed to upskill physicians in the latest sleep and respiratory therapy technologies including its connected <a href=\"https:\/\/www.philips.com\/dreamfamily\">Dream Family<\/a> CPAP solution, home ventilation solutions, oxygen therapy and respiratory drug delivery solutions.
