Never one to shy away from referencing the colours of other cultures in his designs, Jovian looked to Japan for inspiration. It’s a beautiful matrimony between Japanese motifs, the Hokusai wave, Seigaiha wave, Cranes, Asanoha (hemp leaves), Shippou (seven treasure), Kiku (chrysanthemum flower), and Sakura (cherry blossom); cut to kimono structures in the present day kurungs with ribbon wraps, flared sleeves, ladylike peplums and finishing touches like beaded sequins and\u00a0adjustable Obi belts to\u00a0wrap everything off.<\/p>\n

For the price of RM551 to RM678, the fabrics do not disappoint. Heavy printed satin, gorgeous\u00a0organza, lovely lace, crepe, mixed cotton and embellished brocade are set carefully to give off a luxurious feel. While some pieces exude softness, there’s somewhat a fierce force in the brights, allowing you to choose how you’d want to carry yourself for the forthcoming open houses.<\/p>\n

EDO by Jovian Mandagie can be purchased online at\u00a0zalora.com.my<\/a>\u00a0starting from now and will soon be launched at\u00a0JStore Shah Alam, Bangsar, Bangi, Parkson Pavilion and Singapore by mid-March onwards.
