Frankitas, a\u00a0treasure trove that curates contemporary pieces made from traditional ethnic textiles that are rich in\u00a0heritage and history turned three in style with the unveiling of its latest collection.<\/p>\n

From silk Ikat clutches to ethnic tribal rugs, Frankitas new designs weaved artisanal fabrics from\u00a0an ancient practiced craft of weaving and hand dyeing into exceptional contemporary pieces. What’s so special about the collection is the textiles that are used in the making of Frankitas extensive range which are sourced from skilled crafters in remote areas including Malaysia, Indonesia,\u00a0Uzbekistan and more. Frankitas is all for preserving culture\u00a0as such the traditional motifs like Batik, Ikat, Songket, Tenun and Rangrang.<\/p>\n

Founded by Francisca Turner Shaik or better known as Franki, Frankitas was created to be more than just a store – a humble home, to be exact, where you can support the small businesses for what they stand for – a passion for their crafts. Nearly 70% of the products are made and tailored locally with their own tropical taste.<\/p>\n

Starting with just three designs of bags and purses, Frankitas has expanded to include the\u00a0ever-so-classic envelope clutch, Titins, in designs like Lannie, Ava, Mama Sabeena, Maren, Jikat, Tas Malam series and more. The Webe bags, crafted out of sturdy woven Rang Rang in artsy chevron motif is a bestseller here apart from the clutches from Tas Malam, Lannie and Maren which is favoured for its striking vibrant colours and elegance.<\/p>\n

Franki is also introducing the “Frankitas Collective”, a project that highlights handpicked pieces from selected brands that shared the same values, taste and vision as Frankitas. Isle\u00a0& Tribe and\u00a0Fugeelah\u00a0are among those that have been added to their website.<\/p>\n
