We’re pretty sure you’ve come across Sefarra,\u00a0a relatively young cosmetics brand from Malaysia,\u00a0which was recently accused of\u00a0imitating Sephora.<\/p>\n

To get a better understanding of this case, let’s run through\u00a0how this\u00a0whole controversy started.<\/p>\n

Based in Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Seffara HQ is owned by social media influencer Farra Fareez, who\u00a0has her\u00a0makeup brand and contact lenses\u00a0named Farra Beauty. The store was launched last week on October 18 and the store opening was graced with the presence of Malaysian actress Hanez Suraya and cosmetics entrepreneur Nur Sajat.<\/p>\n

With the black-and-white striped paper bag and storefront,\u00a0pointing out such similarities was inevitable. Further complicating the situation are the brand’s names\u00a0\u2014 Sephora and Seffara.<\/p>\n

Seffara’s own perfume miniature set has also drawn many eyeballs as it appears to imitate the concept of some of the popular international brands such as Dior and Gucci.<\/p>\n
