As Shiseido Top Hair and Makeup Artist and the Principal of SABFA (Shiseido Academy of Beauty and Fashion), Tadashi Harada is one of the top in the hairdressing industry with a wealth of hairdressing experience as he has worked with international celebrities like Orlando Bloom, Kenichi Matsuyama among many others, as well as global fashion brands across print, TV commercial and fashion show.\u00a0He’s a consecutive five-time award recipient at the Japan Hairdressing Awards (JHA) too.<\/p>\n

\"#QuickChatWithPamper:He was down in Malaysia to conduct a seminar for the upcoming\u00a0inaugural Beauty Culture Icon 2017, a platform for young aspiring hair designers to showcase their creativity in creating out-of-the-box beauty outlook or color trend through a photo entry competition which he’s also one of the judges on the jury panel. Tadashi demonstrated one of his latest creations that utilizes different braiding styles to create a unique braided hairdo.<\/p>\n

\"#QuickChatWithPamper:Born in 1971, Tadashi Harada has always dreamt to be a pilot in the Self Defense Air Force, but his dream did not come true when he left the troop in 1992. After obtaining his license as a hair designer, he\u00a0kicked off his career at a salon in Tokyo and then, here he is today.<\/p>\n

We had a chance to have a sitdown with Tadashi for a #QuickChatWithPamper to learn more about him and what inspires him.<\/p>\n

\"#QuickChatWithPamper:1. How did you get into the makeup and hairdressing industry and what inspired you to pursue these passions until today?<\/h4>\n

My mother works as a hairstylist so I grew up knowing about hairstyling and was inspired by it. When piloting didn’t work out, I went back to my roots. After seeing numerous Shiseido works on magazines, I wanted to be part of Shiseido, which is why after I graduated from SABFA, I joined the brand.<\/p>\n

2. What’s the most interesting hairstyle you have created?<\/h4>\n

Hairstyles which takes inspiration from comics and animations because I’m a fan of them, I like to combine the beauty of the art with high fashion so it becomes interesting and unique.<\/p>\n

3. If you’re stuck on a deserted island and you can only bring 3 beauty\/hair products\/tools, what will it be and why?<\/h4>\n

Shampoo, facial wash, and face lotion. I must keep my hair and face clean. It’s important to create a thick foam with your facial wash before putting it on your skin.<\/p>\n

4. What is the difference between Japanese and Korean beauty?<\/h4>\n

Japanese ladies tend to go for a feminine or cute ‘kawaii’ look while the men will have round and softer haircuts. As for Koreans, the ladies are more keen to the mature, sexy hairstyles and the men tend to go for cool square cuts.<\/p>\n
