It&#8217;s true that these foods are easy to prepare. But what you don&#8217;t know about these processed foods is that in the long run, they can cause cancer.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_22128\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-22128\" style=\"width: 1024px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-22128\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/intro-burger.jpg\" alt=\"Image: themeatco.com\" width=\"1024\" height=\"461\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/intro-burger.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/intro-burger-150x68.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/intro-burger-300x135.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/intro-burger-696x313.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/intro-burger-933x420.jpg 933w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-22128\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Image: themeatco.com<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>According to a research conducted by <strong>The International Agency for Research on Cancer<\/strong>,\u00a0processed meat such as hot dogs, bacon, sausages, and canned goods as a carcinogen, a substance that is causing cancer,\u00a0which means that there is strong evidence that processed meats cause cancer.<\/p>\n<p>Experts from different countries reviewed more than 800 studies to reach their conclusions. They found that eating 50 grams of processed meat every day increased the risk of colorectal cancer by 18%. That is almost about 1 hot dog and 4 strips of bacon.\u00a0For red meat, there was evidence of increased risk of colorectal, pancreatic, and prostate cancer. All in all, the risk of a person in developing colon cancer is 5%.<\/p>\n<p>Colleen Doyle, MS, RD, American Cancer Society managing director of nutrition and physical activity, says, &#8220;We should be limiting red and processed meat to help reduce colon cancer risk, and possibly, the risk of other cancers.
