With the 2017 SEA Games closing ceremony\u00a0coincide with the celebration of Malaysia’s 60th Independence Day and also Malaysia Day,\u00a0whether you will be attending the 2017 SEA Games closing ceremony or not,\u00a0those with tickets can expect more than just fireworks.<\/p>\n

Here’s what we know so far about the 2017 SEA Games closing ceremony.<\/p>\n

1.<\/strong> The SEA Games closing ceremony will not fall on the same day when Malaysia celebrates Malaysia’s 60th Independence Day on Aug 31. Instead, the closing ceremony has been moved one day earlier to Aug 30,\u00a0from 8pm to 10.30pm.<\/strong>\u00a0This is because Malaysia will be celebrating Hari Raya Haji on Sept 1.<\/p>\n

2.<\/strong> The closing\u00a0ceremony for SEA Games\u00a0will be held in the newly-renovated\u00a0Bukit Jalil National Stadium, which can accommodate up to 80,000 people.\u00a0
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

3<\/strong>. There would be a full road closure today and on Aug 30 for the closing ceremony.<\/p>\n

4.<\/strong> Film director Saw Teong Hin, who is also the creative director of the Games\u2019 ceremonies, said the level of excitement would double for the closing ceremony in conjunction with the two celebrations. “Audiences will be blown away with another exciting round of colour, culture and creativity,”\u00a0he told the New Straits Times<\/a>\u00a0in an interview.<\/p>\n

5.<\/strong>\u00a0Datuk M. Saravanan, the Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports, urged\u00a0spectators to use public transport, adding that there are a total of 18,000 parking bays by the various LRT stations along the line leading to Bukit Jalil. “The police will bar vehicles without valid SEA Games parking stickers to enter into the National Stadium vicinity,” he added<\/a>.<\/p>\n

6<\/strong>.\u00a0Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi expressed his hope that the closing ceremony of the biennial games on Aug 30 would be a grand affair. “Of course the people hope that it should not only be a grand closing ceremony, but we must set aside political differences and stand together to support our athletes in all the sports categories we are competing,\u201d he told Bernama<\/a>.<\/p>\n
