With just a few weeks left to go now until Kuala Lumpur\u00a0Fashion Week Ready-To-Wear 2017<\/strong> (#KLFWRTW2017) kick off, we can’t help but feel just a tad excited of what’s to come. This year marks the 5th anniversary since its inception in 2013 and to celebrate the milestone KLFW RTW 2017 will unveil over 150 designers never-before-seen Ready-to-Wear collections exclusively at Pavilion Kuala Lumpur from 16th to 20th August 2017.<\/p>\n

Working closely with Tourism Malaysia<\/strong> and their Preferred Travel Partner, AirAsia<\/strong>, KLFW RTW 2017 will be inviting six international guest designers from China, India, Australia, Japan, Philippines and South Korea to facilitate a creative bi-lateral dialogue between our local and international designers and to promote the international growth of local designers in the future.<\/p>\n

Tourism Malaysia has also created a fashion-on-the-go OOTD truck to encourage public to join in the fun with an OOTD contest where they would have to go on the truck to take an OOTD picture and post it on their social media with hashtags: #RURunwayReady, #Negaraku, #SayangMalaysia<\/em> and #IAMHOMEGROWN.<\/em> Lucky winners will win tickets to KLFW RTW 2017 shows.<\/p>\n

The AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search (AARRDS)<\/strong>, a platform for budding designers to showcase their talents and help pave their way into the fashion industry, goes regional this year with the competition expanded to include Brunei, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar and Laos to last year’s country lineup which is Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines and Malaysia. 20 finalists from all 10 ASEAN countries will be competing during the Grand Finale of AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search 2017 on 18th August 2017 where the winner will walk away with prizes worth at least RM350,000 including a confirmed show segment at KLFW RTW 2018, RM25,000 sponsored by FashionValet to produce a capsule collection which will be sold on FashionValet.com<\/a>, 150,000 AirAsia BIG Points as well as AirAsia flights and more.<\/p>\n

KLFW RTW 2017 Show Schedule<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Here’s what you can look forward to at the prestigious KLFW RTW 2017:<\/p>\n

1. KLFW RTW 2017 will collaborate with Amazon Fashion Week TOKYO<\/strong> and will be inviting ONE Malaysian designer to showcase in Amazon Fashion Week TOKYO 2018.<\/p>\n

2. The KLFW RTW 2017 on-ground campaign of #IAMHOMEGROWN <\/strong>was jointly conceptualized by FASHIONVALET<\/strong> & KLFW RTW 2017<\/strong>.\u00a0The aim of this campaign is to instil pride and recognition of Malaysian talents in our Fashion and Creative Industry.<\/p>\n

3. The Grand Winner of <\/strong>the AirAsia Runway Ready Designer 2016, Anuruk Jaidee<\/strong> will be making his debut of complete Runway Collection 2016 at the KLFW RTW 2017.<\/p>\n

4. In collaboration with Yayasan Noor Al-Syakur (YANAS) <\/strong>(http:\/\/www.yanas.com.my<\/a>), 6 young and emerging designers will be showcasing their reinvented collection of Batik in contemporary ready-to-wear fashion under the newly Fashion Forward Ready to Wear: Batik Kelantan <\/em>segment.<\/p>\n

5. Dato\u2019 Farah Khan<\/strong> (<\/cite>http:\/\/farahkhan.com<\/a>) is the founder and president of Malaysia\u2019s leading luxury retailer, The Melium Group, and creative director of her eponymous label, Farah Khan. Farah Khan will be presenting her exclusive Runway collection for KLFW RTW 2017 in conjunction with her 10th Year Anniversary.<\/p>\n

6. KLFW RTW\u2019s Initiative <\/strong>in partnership with Isetan KLCC, <\/strong>opens a pop-up store to celebrate Malaysian fashion industry and give local designer labels a boost in a big shopping destination; Suria KLCC.<\/p>\n

7. Cassey Gan <\/strong>(https:\/\/www.casseygan.com<\/a>), the recipient of BOF Enhancement Programme in Paris <\/strong>will be showcasing her anticipating collection in KLFW RTW 2017.<\/p>\n

8. Eclipse <\/strong>will be celebrating their 20th Anniversary in this year KLFW RTW. The collection for this year is inspired by the Layer Drawing series by Nobuhio Nakanishi.<\/p>\n

9. Official Make-up partner, Bobbi Brown <\/strong>will fly in TEN professional make-up artists from around the region during KLFW RTW 2017.<\/p>\n
