Charcuterie Platter, a curated selection of cooked and dry-cured meats. This fancy spread is every bit as simple to pull together. The craze hasn’t\u00a0quite reach Malaysia yet, however a new rendezvous in Kuala Lumpur has recently grabbed our attention.<\/p>\n

Nestled in a popular area for expats\u2014Bukit Ceylon, five minutes from the ever-alive Changkat Bukit Bintang, Bottega Mediterranea<\/strong> is all about fresh produce and authentic Italian delicacy. Their menu includes old-school Italian cold-cut sandwiches, hot sandwiches, Italian coffee, and more.<\/p>\n

Bottega Mediterranea has been operating since 2011. Apart from running the deli, Bottega Mediterranea also specialise in importing fresh products and authentic ingredients from all over the Italian peninsula. Step inside you will see a heap of European products such as\u00a0pasta, liquor, olive oil,\u00a0place neatly on the shelves.<\/p>\n

\"bottega-pamper\"bottega-pamperThe Charcuterie Platter<\/strong> (RM51.95)\u00a0for two pax comes with five different cured meats: Ventricina picante, Parma 18m, Porchetta, Salame feline, Capocollo Piacentino. The meats are well complemented with three different cheeses: Emmentaler, Toma, and Grana Padano, and pickles: grilled eggplant, green pesto, and sundried tomato.<\/p>\n

We were served a basket of bready homemade Italian toasts as well to pair the meat with. Francesca, who is one of the staffs taught us to rub olive oil and pickle of your choices and pair the meat with.<\/p>\n

The freshness of the meat cured meat gives a pleasant contrast with the Emmentaler cheese, one of the milder types of cheese and Francesca explains, the cured meats are carefully picked to suit all palates.<\/p>\n

Also, we tried their hot sandwich\u2014Rustico, comes with Porcheta, Porcini mushroom, and baby artichoke. Porchetta is an Italian-style roast pork cold cut sold in Italian delicatessens. What is interesting about this sandwich is they use Porcini mushroom which is one of the few wild mushrooms that can be eaten raw.<\/p>\n

\"bottega-pamperCoffee is so much a part of Italian culture. You certainly cannot leave an Italian deli without tasting their coffee.<\/p>\n

\"bottega-pamperPersonally, I’ve never been to Italy. But I’m happy that I can now enjoy a hearty and unique Charcuterie Platter in Bottega Mediterranea that’s homely and authentic. With all that said, order anything from the menu and you can\u2019t go wrong.<\/p>\n
