We had a quick chat with LANEIGE Global Make Up Artist & Trainer, Cat Koh who was in Malaysia last month to launch the LANEIGE Silk Intense Lipstick<\/a>\u00a0.\u00a0She has been with Laneige for six years and has worked with brands such as Make Up For Ever<\/a> and MAC<\/a>. Cat has also done the makeup for famous Kpop artists such as Teen Top, Girl’s Day, Brown Eyed Girls, Super Junior and more. Despite her ever-growing star-studded portfolio, we can’t help but be charmed by her friendly and humble demeanour during our chat.<\/p>\n

1.How do we fully utilize the two mixer shades from the LANEIGE Silk Intense Lipstick line?<\/h3>\n
\"Laneige
Exotic Yellow and Forest Fantasy.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The mixer shades can be mixed with any colour from the collection, you can even mix both mixer shades at the same time to get a unique colour. So in total, you can have about 120 colour combinations!<\/p>\n

The grey purplish shade can help to tone down a bright, neon shade to help you achieve the MLBB colour.<\/p>\n

The yellow shade helps to warm up any colour, for example, if you’re warm-toned and your lip colour is cool-toned, you can mix in the yellow shade to make the colour warm which can brighten up your complexion!<\/p>\n

2.Which are your favourite colours from the entire collection?<\/h3>\n

\"Laneige‘Beige Chiffon’, I used this colour on Song Hye Kyo in the drama ‘The Winter The Wind Blows’. And I like to apply a bit of ‘Bloody Burgundy’ on the inside of the lips to create a gradient lip. Because in Korea, we like to use a reddish shade for the inside of our lips and a beige colour for the outer part of the lips so ‘Beige Chiffon’ is the perfect shade for that.<\/p>\n

3.What are Song Hye Kyo’s favourite shades?<\/h3>\n

\"LaneigeRecently she told me doesn’t like to use too many colours because there’s always a makeup artist around to\u00a0do her makeup for her on set and off. But on her days off, she usually does do her makeup with just a BB Cushion and blot a bit of red lipstick (Hint: ‘Get The Red’ shade) to highlight her face.<\/p>\n

4.What’s the current makeup trend in Korea?<\/h3>\n

Natural makeup is always the trend there but there are two styles which are really famous now such as the Girl Crush and Girlish look.<\/p>\n

For the Girl Crush look, makeup is heavier where contouring is heavier, more glitter eyeshadows and eyebrows are darker and defined.<\/p>\n

As for the Girlish\u00a0look, using a colour which is two shades lighter than your brow hair colour gives you a more natural eyebrow look, eyeliner is not too winged for a cuter doe-eyed look with non-touring which is like contouring but the more subtle.<\/p>\n

5.Which shade would you recommend for someone who’s new to the range and do you have any makeup advice for makeup newbies?<\/h3>\n

\"LaneigeI think ‘Love Me New Me’ is a great shade for everyone. Also, don’t be afraid to use a dark and unique colour because you can mix it with light colours for a gradation effect or mixer shades to make it more wearable.<\/p>\n
