Cleaning before Chinese New Year is a tradition to get rid of any bad luck from the previous year. Having a clean home also makes way for good luck in the New Year. And as technology is such a huge part of most of our lives, you must not forget your tech gadgets. Spring clean your email inbox, delete files and software you don\u2019t anymore. Remember to run an adware cleaner, and have a look at all those unanswered Facebook messages.<\/p>\n

2. Wear your gadgets in red<\/strong><\/h3>\n

Red symbolises fortune and luck. Your phone, tablet and laptop covers must be brand new. Also, change your wallpaper to something festive and red. Don\u2019t forget about your ringtone too, make sure it\u2019s a Chinese New Year song or voice clip that goes \u201cHuat ah\u201d!<\/p>\n

Different element animals have special lucky colours and should try to wear or display more of these colours around you (check your element and lucky colours here).<\/p>\n

3. Don’t edit or delete things during Chinese New Year<\/strong><\/p>\n

Traditional Chinese New Year superstitions say you must never chop anything or move anything out from the house, as you might lose the luck for the New Year. The same rule applies here. Uninstalling software, cropping images or video editing should be avoided all costs.<\/p>\n

4. Keep lots of web browser tabs open on your devices<\/strong><\/p>\n

For those who always have multiple browsers open at one time, keep that up. Traditional Chinese New Year say opening windows and doors brings in good luck in the New Year. Hence make sure you leave lots of open browser\u00a0on your all desktop and gadgets.<\/p>\n

5. Don’t purchase any new e-books<\/strong><\/p>\n

The term \u2018book\u2019 sounds very similar to the word for \u2018lose\u2019 in Chinese language. If you never want to lose out, avoid buying books at all costs if you never want to lose out. Therefore put away your Kindle. No e-books for you until the New Year is over.<\/p>\n
