The uncontrolled or excessive eating coupled with reduced exercise during the CNY celebration can lead to wight gain that can cause various disease such as heart disease, diabetes and hypertension.\u00a0Here are some tips provided by\u00a0Ministry of Health Malaysia (MOH)\u00a0on how to prepare healthy meals during the Chinese New Year.<\/p>\n<h3><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-37397\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/food-984441_1280.jpg\" alt=\"food-984441_1280\" width=\"1280\" height=\"853\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/food-984441_1280.jpg 1280w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/food-984441_1280-150x100.jpg 150w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/food-984441_1280-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/food-984441_1280-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/food-984441_1280-1024x682.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/food-984441_1280-696x464.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/food-984441_1280-1068x712.jpg 1068w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/food-984441_1280-630x420.jpg 630w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1280px) 100vw, 1280px\" \/><\/strong><\/h3>\n<h3><strong>8 Tips for Preparing Healthy Chinese New Year\u00a0Dishes<\/strong><\/h3>\n<ol>\n<li>Serve a variety of vegetables as it contains a lot of vitamins and minerals needed by the body.<\/li>\n<li>Serve foods high in fibre such as brown rice or whole grain breads, which are also contain vitamins and minerals.<\/li>\n<li>Serve fish rather that red meat such as beef and pork because fish contains less fat and cholesterol.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare lean meat or remove the visible fat or the skin of the poultry.<\/li>\n<li>Use natural herbs and spices or dried fruit to replace the use of sugar, salt and sauce in cooking.<\/li>\n<li>Serve fresh fruits as better choice dessert.<\/li>\n<li>Reduce sugary drinks and make sure to consume enough plain water\u00a0everyday during the festive period.<\/li>\n<li>Prepare foods using healthier cooking methods such as boiling, grilling, steaming or stir frying with less oil to reduce oil and fat consumption.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3><strong>Healthy Chinese New Year\u00a0Recipes<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Here are two healthy CNY recipes that can be easily prepared by airfryer such as\u00a0<strong>Philips Airfryer TurboStar<\/strong> that can\u00a0help to cook foods with up to 80% less fat without compromise on taste.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Steamed Fish Fillet in Chinese Style<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-37390 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Steamed-Fish-209x300.jpg\" alt=\"Steamed Fish\" width=\"209\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Steamed-Fish-209x300.jpg 209w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Steamed-Fish-104x150.jpg 104w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Steamed-Fish.jpg 712w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Steamed-Fish-696x1001.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Steamed-Fish-292x420.jpg 292w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 209px) 100vw, 209px\" \/>Ingredients<\/u><\/strong><u><br \/>\n<\/u>1 slice (200 g) Fish (group)<br \/>\n2 pcs Dried Chinese mushrooms, soaked\u00a0and shredded<br \/>\n1 tbsp Ginger shreds<br \/>\n30 g Pork belly, shredded<br \/>\n1 pc Pickled sour plum, tear into pieces<br \/>\n20 g <em>Ham Choy<\/em> (Salted green stems),\u00a0soaked and shredded<br \/>\n1 stalk Spring onion, cut into sections<\/p>\n<p><strong>Marinade (A):\u00a0<\/strong>1 tsp light soy sauce,\u00a0\u00bd tsp sugar or to taste,\u00a01 tsp salt,\u00a0\u00bd tsp pepper,\u00a01 tbsp sesame oil and\u00a01 tsp\u00a0organic Extra Virgin Olive Oil.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Garnishing: <\/strong>Some Crispy fried ginger shreds and some Chili pieces, finely shredded.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Method<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Mix ingredients to create marinade (A)<\/li>\n<li>Clean fish slice and rub with marinade (A).<\/li>\n<li>Place marinated fish on a piece of aluminum foil.<\/li>\n<li>Spread belly pork, salted green stems, mushrooms, ginger and sour plum and spring onion over the fish.<\/li>\n<li>Pour remaining marinade ingredients over the fish.<\/li>\n<li>Wrap up the aluminum foil into a neat package.<\/li>\n<li>Fill up water in the cooking basket up to level of the wire mash. Placing the fish packet into the basket, slide the basket into the Philips Airfryer TurboStar.<\/li>\n<li>Steam the fish packet at 180\u00b0 C for 15 \u2013 20 minutes or until fish is done when pricked with a fork.<\/li>\n<li>Transfer fish to a serving plate and add garnishing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>2. Steamed Prosperity Chicken with Lotus Roots<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong><u><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright wp-image-37389 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Steamed-Chicken-209x300.jpg\" alt=\"Steamed Chicken\" width=\"209\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Steamed-Chicken-209x300.jpg 209w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Steamed-Chicken-104x150.jpg 104w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Steamed-Chicken.jpg 712w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Steamed-Chicken-696x1001.jpg 696w, https:\/\/www.pamper.my\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/01\/Steamed-Chicken-292x420.jpg 292w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 209px) 100vw, 209px\" \/>Ingredients<br \/>\n<\/u><\/strong>3 pcs Chicken drumsticks, chopped into\u00a0bite- sized pieces<br \/>\n8 g <em>Yong Sum Soe<\/em> (Ginseng roots), soaked\u00a0into 200 ml water<br \/>\n5 g Ginger, shredded<br \/>\n3 pcs Red dates, sliced<br \/>\n1 tbsp <em>Kei Chi <\/em>(Chinese Wolfberry)<br \/>\n2 no Preserved century eggs, cubed<br \/>\n150 ml\u00a0Water<br \/>\n1 pc Aluminum foil<br \/>\n60 g Lotus roots, sliced and boiled till partially cooked<br \/>\n35 g Carrot slices, blanched<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seasoning ingredients (A):\u00a0<\/strong>1 tbsp\u00a0Light soy sauce,\u00a0\u00bd tsp pepper,\u00a0\u00bd tsp sugar,\u00a01 tsp chicken stock powder,\u00a01 tsp sesame oil,\u00a01 tsp organic extra virgin olive oil and\u00a01 tbsp corn flour.<\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Method:<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Marinate chicken with seasoning ingredients (A) and set aside for at least 1-2 hours.<\/li>\n<li>Combine marinated chicken with ginseng root, red dates and <em>Kei Chi.<\/em><\/li>\n<li>Arrange marinated chicken mixture and lotus root in a heatproof dish. Pour in water to mix. Cover the dish with a piece of aluminum foil.<\/li>\n<li>Place the heatproof dish in the wire basket. Fill up water in the cooking basket up to the level of the wire mash.<\/li>\n<li>Slide the basket into the Philips Airfryer TurboStar and set the temperature at 180\u00b0 C. Steam for 30-35 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>At the final 15 minutes of cooking slide the basket out and add century eggs and carrot then continue to steam until chicken is done.<\/li>\n<li>Should chicken is not up to desired texture; continue to cook for another 5 minutes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><em><u>To Prepare the Pastry Puff Blooms<\/u><\/em>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Roll out pastry lightly then cut into desired shapes. Place a ball of lotus paste (20 g each) in the centre. Put another piece of cutout round on top.<\/li>\n<li>Brush the sides with a little egg wash, use a fork to press round the sides to seal the lotus paste. Add a sprinkling of mixed white and black sesame seeds over.<\/li>\n<li>Arrange the puff pastry on the Philips Airfryer TurboStar<strong>\u00a0<\/strong>basket wire net. Slide the basket into the airfryer.
