Japanese retail giant Uniqlo<\/a> has recently announced the launch of its special collection of clothing that features traditional motifs of the Indonesian batik, a traditional Indonesian textile that was included on the UNESCO\u2019s list of intangible Cultural Heritages of Humanity in 2009.<\/p>\n

This is the second program in the\u00a0UNIQLO Factory Worker Empowerment Project where a portion of the profit is allocated\u00a0for the employees working in Fast Retailing\u2019s affiliated factories in Indonesia.<\/p>\n

Uniqlo’s\u00a0Batik Motif Collection features traditional batik patterns that are deeply rooted in Indonesia culture and is faithfully repacked by Uniqlo to its LifeWear concept.\u00a0The collection consists of\u00a0eight new products bearing the traditional Indonesian batik motifs such as parang<\/em>, sawat<\/em>, buketan<\/em>, kawung<\/em>, arabesque, wadasan<\/em> and truntum<\/em>, which\u00a0<\/em>are light\u00a0and comfortable material which is ideal for summer.<\/p>\n\r\n
