The one-piece has been making a steady comeback into the swim wear market and I couldn’t be happier! Though I own plenty of bikini tops and bottoms myself, there’s something about a well tailored and flirty one-piece that is so vintage and chic. And they are way more functional than bikini tops when it comes to swimming.<\/p>\n

It’s set as one of the must-haves for summer this year and if you’re looking for a one-piece yourself, now is the time to shop and flaunt the ones you have! I recently bought a nice navy blue and white striped piece from Esprit at their latest store in Mid Valley.<\/p>\n

Rather than the usual one-piece styles we’re used to, you’ll be seeing a lot more style and creativity injected into the necklines, straps, and overall designs. It’s incredibly refreshing!<\/p>\n

According to a news source in New York, this season sees the one-piece finished with all kinds of on-trend prints, such as stripes, graphic and geometric patterns, plus animal-print designs. Flowers big and small will also be on the agenda, as well as tribal and abstract motifs. There’s sure to be something for everyone.<\/p>\n

Another detail lifted from Fashion Week catwalks is zips, which were big news on the runway this year. These make a great way to change a swimsuit’s look, worn zipped up for an understated feel or unzipped to reveal a plunging neckline. In fact, necklines are seriously low in this season’s one-pieces, sometimes cut down to the belly button, and with added jewels bringing a glamorous touch to these revamped pieces.<\/p>\n

Fashionistas will also find swimsuits finished with frills, another major trend in ready-to-wear collections, as well as sheer designs. Lace-up details and asymmetrical cuts, 3D effects, sexy cutaways, bows, ribbons and pleats will be coming to one-piece swimwear too.<\/p>\n
