Seoul Fashion Week was all about celebrating your uniqueness and doing it fearlessly, well the Tokyo Fashion Week was more about having fun with fashion and not taking it too seriously. Not too far off and perhaps we can see a common thread among fashion styles within the ASEAN region.<\/p>\n

I tend to have a lot of black in my wardrobe and that’s because it’s the easiest colour to match! Plus it’s so versatile and everything looks so sleek. But I have to admit that the Tokyo Fashion Week does make colour look like fun and I may even consider adding a few of these shades into my own wardrobe.<\/p>\n

1. Wear one statement colour.\u00a0<\/strong>It’s like colour blocking but instead of having three colours, just choose one statement piece to upgrade your attire.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Who needs black blazers?\u00a0<\/strong>This may be a little too loud for me but I see how it’s fun. The Versace coat has bright colours and bold prints – not everyone can pull off a leopard on their blazer. But then again, why not? Have fun!<\/p>\n

3. Commit to one colour in various shades.\u00a0<\/strong>This is an interesting concept and one that I haven’t tried before. Choose a colour, say blue for instance, and pair it with other blue items but in different shades – a lighter blue, a pastel blue, a neon blue…<\/p>\n

4. Mix multiple prints in the same colour.\u00a0<\/strong>I almost think this is something that only the Japanese can get away with, don’t you?<\/p>\n

5. Embrace embroidery.\u00a0<\/strong>Stitched on clothing and it can look beautiful, in fact we’re a continent filled with a heritage of beautiful embroidery – why not embrace it and wear it proud?<\/p>\n
