Remember how we once wrote a post about the new trend – glittered armpits<\/a>? Well that should have been an indication that glitter is here to stay.<\/p>\n

Whatever your stance on glitter is, you either love it or hate it in our opinion, try not to be afraid to dabble and explore its sparkly effects. Because really, which girl out there absolutely hates anything that sparkles, even in the slightest bit.<\/p>\n

After the recent New York Fashion Week, it was clear that glitter is already showing itself as a major makeup trend, and we’re here to shed some light on this.<\/p>\n

Saint Laurent<\/strong> models were made up in twinkling flecks of gold, blue, red, green, purple, and silver.<\/p>\n

At the opening ceremony, makeup artist Yadim<\/strong> painted smudges of glitter across the models’ faces to complement the Blade Runner-inspired collection.<\/p>\n

Both Tommy Hilfiger and Rosie Assouline<\/strong> models were seen with touches of flitter on their eye lids, a wash of soft gold and multi-coloured dots of sparkle.<\/p>\n

What’s the inspiration behind this latest trend? One makeup artist, James Kaliardos thinks it has less to do with a fad, and more to do with David Bowie’s inspiration in the fashion industry.<\/p>\n
