Eating Pattern Recommended by the New USDA Dietary Guidelines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In the latest dietary guidelines released by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA)\u00a0last week,\u00a0it is recommended\u00a0<strong>a healthy eating pattern that accounts for all foods and beverages within an appropriate calorie level<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Updated every five years, the\u00a0USDA\u00a0guidelines\u00a0serve as the foundation for federal nutrition policy and shapes the recommendations found on USDA\u2019s MyPlate.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_11768\" guidelines includes:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<ul class=\"overview\">\n<li>A variety of vegetables from all of the subgroups\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0dark green, red and orange, legumes (beans and peas), starchy, and other;<\/li>\n<li>Fruits, especially whole fruits;<\/li>\n<li>Grains, at least half of which are whole grains;<\/li>\n<li>Fat-free or low-fat dairy, including milk, yogurt, cheese, and\/or fortified soy beverages;<\/li>\n<li>A variety of protein foods, including seafood, lean meats and poultry, eggs, legumes (beans and peas), and nuts, seeds, and soy products; and<\/li>\n<li>Oils<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The guidelines also recommended that the consumption of saturated fats and trans fats, added sugars, and sodium should be limited under the\u00a0healthy eating
