We did an article before about pulling off the nerd-chic look<\/a> – a few staple pieces that you would need to own and wear with confidence in order to get the look down pat. It was something we picked up by observation, but now we have even more proof that Geek Chic\/Nerd Chic\/Chic Geek is in and will be one of the trends in 2016 thanks to Gucci’s creative director, Alessandro Michele.<\/p>\n

What did Alessandro do? He sent a troop of models clad in some pretty fabulous clothing, and dolled-up in Geek Chic down the runway during Milan’s Fashion Week.<\/p>\n

The main accessory he played with was obviously the chic optical glasses – they were oversized and came in various colours and designs. Some were sparkly! We expect that we’ll begin to see this look a lot more in 2016. It was also pretty reminiscent of the 70s but we could groove with that.<\/p>\n

Just think of Jess from New Girl – she has Geek Chic written all over her and is a great person to look to for ideas on outfits and style tips!<\/p>\n

A few celebrities also took to their Instagram accounts and showcased their cutest Geek Chic frames. Do you need any more convincing that this will be a trend?<\/p>\n

Even though it’s hot on the runway, don’t be a slave to fashion and alter your look just to fit into a trend. But this is a cause of celebration for all fellow stylish Geeks! Wear those optical glasses (no matter how high your power is) and wear them proud. Heck, maybe even be bold and get yourself some funky frames!<\/p>\n

I personally can’t wait to see more styles in our fashion racks and stores – I hope more will embrace this look (if it appeals to you) and we can bring Geek Chic back!<\/strong><\/p>\n
